Built on the site of the Poor Clares Convent, is a new development of 16 luxury homes. In the sought-after village of Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire, landscape plans are now becoming a reality. The convent itself has been converted and six new dwellings built on the site which closed as an active convent in 2011 after 160 years.
The team at Keary Design Associates have been engaged to provide the landscape masterplan, design and soft landscaping plans for the prestigious scheme. The homes themselves and the outlying landscape design are unique in their theme, reflecting the divine features of the buildings and retaining the heritage and history of the location and site itself.
The landscape design focuses on the courtyard and memorial garden. These are key areas for the scheme’s identity and character. Working with the developers BJD Limited, Keary Design have devised the masterplan. This incorporates a French fountain centrepiece, communal space and design features which remain true to the feel and history of the surrounding architecture.
The scheme will continue throughout 2016 and we will follow its course as the landscape itself develops, through to completion.
